Steam SimFest kicks off this week
Steam SimFest is kicking off again, and giving us an event full of amazing simulation games. Starting July 22nd and running until July 29th, the vent will feature a bunch of amazing indie games, with discounts, demos, and more throughout the week. Some of our faves like Kamareu: A Frog Refuge, Minami Lane, Timberborn, and more will all be a part of this great event
Amber Isle Announces Release Date
The upcoming game Amber Isle, where you become a dino shopkeeper, has announced its release date. This cozy game lets you craft and sell items, customize your shop, and make friends with your neighbors. Amber Isle will be released on October 10th for Steam and October 31st for Switch. PAX Aus announces Indie Showcase Winners.
PAX Australia has announced the winners of their Indie Showcase. The showcase features a diverse line up of indie games and tabletop games. Here are some of the digital gaming winners:
- Max Mustard by Toast Interactive: A VR platformer game that combines first person and third person platforming. Wishlist here.
- Untethered by True Anomaly Entertainment: A space survival game where you must scavenge, process resources, and build a space station refuge. Wishlist here

Omega Crafter drops a new update
Omega crafter has dropped it’s next update, adding a popular type of content to the game. This open world survival game set in a unfinished game world, where you collect resources, craft objects and weapons, and build your town with the help of your programable robot, have added fishing to the game. You’ll be able to equip yourself with a fishing rod and catch fish or items, and this is able to be automated too! You can jump into this update for Omega Crafter right now. Wishlist it here
Just Crow Things Announces Release Date
Just Crow Things, a game where you get to play as a crow causing chaos, has announced its release date. In this action simulation game you’ll be able to make new animal friends, steal shiny trinkets, and poop on unsuspecting humans. Just Crow Things is coming August 15th Wishlist here
Travellers Rest drops a new update for the game
The innkeeping, bar tending simulator, Travelers Rest, have launched a new update. In the biggest update to the game (so far), we get an introduction to the story of the game, with a brand new narrated story. We also get access to the city, where you’ll be able to meet new people and visit new shops, as well as a new skill tree that has been streamlined. This is a huge update to the game, which is on sale until August 2nd, so if you love a good management sim add this one to your wishlist. Wishlist it here
Hooded Horse have give first peak into their newest game: Whiskerwood
Hooded Horse has given us a first look at their newest game, Whiskerwood. Whiskerwood is a city builder game with a twist – you build a colony for mice in a world ruled by cats. Now these mice aren’t ordinary mice, they’re industrious mice, and you’ll build up comp-lex and intricate supply chains as you expand your colony and your workforce. The very first Tavern Keeper demo is dropping very soon
The highly anticipated Tavern Management Sim, Tavern Keeper, are dropping the very first demo for the game. In this charming business sim game, you’ll build and manage your own tavern managing as little or as much as you like. A new orcs must die game is coming - Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap.
A new Orcs Must Die game is on the way. In the latest chapter of the franchise, players will play as war mages, evolving through roguelite progression, and of course, taking on hordes of relentless orcs. With solo and up to 4 player co-op, this is set to be an exciting new addition and it’s coming to Steam, Epic Games Store and Xbox early 2025. Wishlist it here
Love Ghostie announces release date
The wholesome ghost matchmaking game, Love Ghostie, has announced it’s release date. This cute game sees you grow relationships between residents at the manor, setting them up on dates, and watching their love bloom. New Untitled Goose Game exhibition to open at ACMI
There’s a new exhibition coming to ACMI and this one’s got some indie gaming flavour. Diving into the iconic slapstick game Untitled Goose, the exhibition will feature insights into the game’s development, with displays of concept art, sketches and design materials, as well as playable version of the game throughout it’s development. The Honk! Untitled Goose exhibition is coming to Melbourne September 17th and sticking around until February, so if you’re in Melbourne go check this one out. Find our more here
Tidy Cauldron has announced it’s release date
The cozy puzzle game where you clean up after 3 messy witches, Tidy Cauldron, has announced it’s release date. With over 100 handcrafted puzzles to solve, you’ll arrange uniquely shaped mystical ingredients to solve them. Devolver Digital have announced a new game joining their line up: Forestrike
Devolver Digital have announced the next game joining their line up, and this one is full of kung fu fighting fun. Forestrike is a tactical action 2d fighting game that combines kung-fu with a supernatural twist. You’ll use unique foresight abilities to visualize fights before they happen, and hone your skills, but be careful because defeat will see you starting over from scratch. This looks set to be an action packed game, and you can add it to your wishlist now. Wishlist the game here
