This New Post Apocalyptic Survival Game Will Sink It’s Teeth Into You – Literally

Quarantine Zone: The Last Check is a top-down, post-apocalyptic survival game that blends base-building management with frontline infection control. At the heart of the experience is the task of inspecting every survivor who arrives at your compound. What starts as simple visual checks for bites or bruises evolves into more advanced diagnostics, such as using thermometers, stethoscopes, and blood-testing tools to assess whether someone might be infected. Based on your evaluation, each individual is directed to one of three areas: the Survivor Block for those deemed healthy, the Quarantine Wing for those who show potential symptoms, or the Liquidation Zone for confirmed infected.

Beyond inspection, the game emphasizes strategic base-building. The Survivor Block functions as a self-contained unit that must be carefully maintained. You’ll need to ensure it remains stocked with food, water, medicine, and power to keep the survivors safe and extract them successfully. As your base grows, you’ll expand infrastructure, build new facilities, and upgrade existing ones to support a growing population under constant threat. When things go south, the game shifts into high-stakes action. In top-down shooter segments, you’ll fend off waves of infected using a range of weapons. These real-time combat sequences are fast-paced and intense, requiring you to actively protect the base you’ve worked hard to build.

Quarantine Zone: The Last Check really took me by surprise. I went in expecting a basic zombie base defense game, but what I found was a much deeper and more interesting experience. From the start, you have to make tough choices—deciding whether someone goes to the survivor block, quarantine, or liquidation. These decisions feel important, and you always second-guess yourself, especially when one mistake could put your whole base at risk.

The base management side of the game was one of the biggest surprises. You’re not just building walls and placing turrets—you have to make sure the survivor block has enough food, water, power, and medicine to keep running. It adds a whole other level of challenge and makes every part of your base feel like it matters. If something runs low or breaks down, things can fall apart quickly.

Then there’s the action. When the infected attack, the game switches into a top-down shooter, and it’s intense. Fighting off the horde feels exciting, especially when you’re defending a base you’ve put time and effort into building and improving. The mix of slower planning and fast combat keeps the game feeling fresh and exciting.

Overall, The Last Check is a great mix of strategy, decision-making, and action. It brings something new to zombie survival games and does it really well. If you like games where your choices matter and you enjoy a post-apocalyptic setting, I definitely recommend checking this one out. I’m really looking forward to seeing what the full version adds.
