If you’re in Australia and looking to pick up the indie hit Schedule 1, you might notice it’s missing from Steam for now. Don’t worry — it’s not banned. The game was temporarily pulled because it doesn’t have an official classification rating, which is a must-have for selling games in Australia.
Tyler, the solo dev behind Schedule 1, explained he wasn’t expecting the rule to apply to digital PC releases, thinking it was just for consoles and physical copies. He’s now working with the Australian Classification Board to get it sorted and hopes to have it back up soon.
If you already own the game, you can keep playing without any issues. Since its early access launch back in March, Schedule 1 has sold over 3 million copies and is sitting on a stellar 98% positive rating on Steam.
This is a reminder that even successful indie games can hit unexpected bumps when dealing with local rules — but it looks like Schedule 1 will be back before long.
